June, 10 - the day of the smash bros invitational
I saw the invitational via twitch and it was fun, it was like that last scene on Real Steel you have to fight the urge to cheer for them, luckily in the privacy of my home I don't have to hold back my cheers of "Mess'em up!" and "Fuck yeah" and others. I love the smash bros series, every Nintendo fan does, I was actually watching it with my friend and I shit you not he asked "Why do people like this game, they keep using the same characters," (I need to note he isn't a big video game fan). This question got me thinking and I realized something, that is why people love Smash Bros, the characters are the reason. not only that, but the awesome idea of your favorite characters beating the ever loving shit out of each other. Smash Bros is a family friendly fan-service game and that is why every one loves it. People who don't know Nintendo love the game play and action, people who do know love the characters, the game play and action, and now that we have Smash Bros for portable systems plenty of other people can join in on the craze potentially making Nintendo the most inviting game company ever. I personally started out playing Smash bros with brawl on the Wii, but I still love the games with all my heart. I am stoked to play the news installment and kick some red plumber ass. I think my main characters will (be in this order) Little Mac, Pit, Mega Man, Greninja, and the Mii Fighter Brawler/Gunner. the first day I do plan on trying every character, but those will probably be who I stick with in verses matches. the only reason the Mii Fighter is so low on the list is because they can't be used online because of their lack of standard move sets. To be honest if it weren't for that they probably would be on the top of the list just after Little Mac and before Pit. (By the way I played and beat (the story) Kid Icarus: Uprising and I loved it, you guys should go pick it up it is fun and surprisingly easy to control). At this point I feel it necessary to note that i am not sponsored by Nintendo, I just love their stuff, and with my internet not being the most cooperative this week it has been the majority of my days, and I, like many others, can't wait for smash bros to come out this October and challenge my gamer friends at school.
